Soul Sparkles Come Home to Mama Sophie
It’s a happy homecoming for Sophie when her Soul Sparkles come back to visit her. “Whenever they come home, they never leave without seeing me just to hug and kiss me. I love them so much,” Sophie exclaims.
Their success is heartwarming to Mama Sophie. Mbali is in her last year of college and will be getting her Bachelor of Social Work in a year. Thabang, is one of the original and oldest Soul Sparkles. He works at a pharmaceutical company. His brother was Lucky, who was an Aid Africa’s Children Starfish recipient who received financial aid for schooling.
The Soul Sparkles is more than a support group for AIDS orphans. It’s more than a place where kids get food parcels a few times a year that Sophie collects money for to lovingly distribute what little she has.
For many of the Soul Sparkles this group means family, love, support, and a sense of belonging in a community that let’s you know you are not alone.
