GoFundMe Helps Volunteers Deliver Desks to our Zambia School

Imagine a school without desks for students. For over 95 million African school children learn to read and write sitting on the floor. This is especially true in rural areas, where we built our first school in Matushi, Zambia. The school opened in Summer, 2009 with 119 students and a government donation of 30 desks.

With the Gofundme funds, Ryan and Ever purchased desks in Zambia and personally supervised the delivery to the school. Over the years, the desks have shown wear given that the student population had increased to 400 students. The addition of 30 new desks and  2 chalkboards is a welcome sight for students who will now share 60 desks for over 400 students!

There is a vast shortage of school desks, chalkboards and school supplies and books throughout Africa. Please help to purchase any of these much needed items for the school. Desks costs $40 each. Local craftsmen were hired to build the desks in Zambia. By purchasing items in Zambia we support their economy.
