Teacher Certification Classes Begin
Last summer when Sophie visited America for the first time, Aid Africa’s Children held a fundraiser in her honor. One of Aid Africa’s Children’s main goals was raising money to pay for two teachers to attend certification classes for Sophie’s Creche.
Because of donors and supporters like you, we have achieved that goal. Thank you for being so generous and helping us.
Obtaining the funds for Sophie was absolutely critical because as of 2024, new government rules demanded creche teachers to have mandatory teaching certificates. Without them, teachers can face immediate dismissal and Sophie’s Creche would likely be fined. Even though the Learning Center received the funds last fall, certification class openings were not available until March, 2024.
Meet Nosipho Qwabe and Betty Marokane who both currently teach 2-3 year olds at the Creche. Their Early Childhood Development Level 4 Teaching certificate classes just started and will continue for one year. They attend classes at the Edutak Early Learning Center Centurion in Pretoria.
Nosipho and Betty are very excited and nervous about taking the classes and earning their teaching certificates.
