Get An Inside Look At Sophie’s Creches' “Make and Bake” Class!
In the past, the "Make and Bake” event is the one most African creches skip because their stoves and ovens are expensive.
This is Sophie Creche’s second year of “Make and Bakes” due to the incredible generosity of Aid Africa’s Children’s donors. They bought Sophie a new kitchen, stove, and oven.
It is rare that a “country” creche, like Sophie’s Creche, would have a kitchen like a “city” creche. Because no one would expect to see such a beautiful kitchen from a creche like Sophie’s because it doesn’t have running water!
Sophie’s video gives us a firsthand look at what it takes to do a “Make and Bake” event at her creche.
As Sophie demonstrates the ingredients needed for making cupcakes, the children gather around her. They are curious and eager to see what’s going to happen next. Watch the video and notice the limited resources and sparse conditions Sophie works under.
It’s a hands-on student experience that teaches valuable life skills. “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” It may not be fish, but these cupcakes create a memorable lesson about self-sufficiency and a whole new world of possibilities.
Thank you for your generous donations! They do make a big difference at Sophie’s Creche!
